Found this in a radio mod book a local ham has:| Just remove the bottom cover (the one where the battery
attaches) and cut the pink wire I also taped the ends up to prevent any possibility of a short Reassemble
and reset the microprecessor by holding the lamp button in and turning the radio on This will allow extended
transmit coverage | It works great!! | The DJ-180T can be modded for a restricted mode of operation, |
allowing TX on the amateur band as usual, *and* restricting RX to | the amateur band as well (The 'stock'
configuration has a wider | receive coverage.) | | Remove the bottom cover plate (where the battery attaches)
and | cut the pink wire Separate the ends, and put a tiny drop of | silicon glue there to hold the ends
securely but apart from each | other and anything else (I don't care for sticky electrical | tape..) | |
Reassemble and set the restricted operation mode by holding the | Function button in and turning the radio
on The display will | show all segments Release the function button after 2 seconds | It's the same mod as
for expanding the TX coverage, the only | difference is the button to hold while powering up.
