From: Zerox. Subject: New Radio Modification For The ADI 147+ For Extended RX And TX. THE NEW UPDATED MODIFICATION FILE FOR THE ADI AR 147. IF YOU HAVE THE OLD VERSION, FOLLOW THIS ONE: 1. Remove the bottom cover by removing the four screws. 2. You will see 2 two red jumpers. One located on the board, and one that looks like it comes off the LCD. 3. Cut both of these jumpers, and move them so they will not touch again. 4. Replace the bottom cover and the four screws. 5. When powering on the unit after making the mod, you MUST reset both the CPU and the VFO. Look in the instruction manual for learning how to do this. Your unit will now successfully Transmit and Receive from 130.0000 MHz to 179.9950 MHz. Please note that the unit will NOT transmit in the Aircraft Receive Band Mode. IF YOU HAVE THE NEW AR-147+ VERSION, USE THIS MOD: 1. Remove the bottom cover by removing the four screws. 2. You will see 1 (one) red jumper that looks like it comes from the LCD or front of the unit. 3. Cut this jumper and move the wires so they will not touch again. 4. Replace the bottom cover and the four screws. 5. When powering on the unit for the first time after the mod is done, you will need to reset the CPU and the VFO. Your instruction manual tells you how to do this. Your unit will now successfully Transmit and receive from 130.0000 MHz to 179.9950 MHz. Note: The unit will NOT transmit in the Aircraft Band Receive Mode. I've performed the mod exactly how the instructions say to do. The mod expanded the receive only, not the transmit, regardless of what mode the radio was in. Just letting you know so hopefully no one else will waste there time performing this mod. |
